Coco Wins!

Saturday 18 December 2010
Mouille Point by Cocobutton, on my Snow Cat Lomo.
Yay, I won! Thanks to Being Brazen and Identity I won the City Snaps competition! And just in time for Christmas holidays as well.

It really is the strangest story. Monday was a really bad day at the office. That morning I had also been checking out the Christmas specials of camera's after my little Canon digi died. Then a lovely lady from Identity saved my day (and my mood) and told me i had won!

The prize included a Canon Powershot A3100 Camera with accessories worth R1300 AND a Identity fashion gift card worth R500! Eeeek!

I would just like to thank the wonderful people at Identity, I love you guys, you made my year!

Last years New Years Resolution was to enter every competition I lay my eyes on. That resolution has won me two very exciting prizes this year! I think I will make the exact same resolution this year.

xoxo

PS. Smile! Here comes Coco with her new camera!

Weekend Learning's

Monday 13 December 2010
French inspired weekend... C'est la vie
Why do the weekends leave me so quickly! Even when I make a point to cherish every moment they go by in a flash. This is what I learned;
  • Louis (my Pekingese pup) went to La Pawtique and got ‘The Lion’ cut. He looks insanely handsome!
  • I love anything grape flavoured. Mmm!
  • Some people are just mean. And I do not deserve their abuse.
  • I still love French (English subtitle) films. I finally got my hands on La Vie en Rose. Stunning!
  • I also love Marion Cotillard and how she portrayed Edith Piaf. And how mad scary she looks in the movie and how gorgeous she in in real life, amazing.
  • I also, still love Edith and her haunting French music.
  • Staying in the entire weekend saves a lot of moola (money).
  • It is the end of the year and even when 'relaxing' on the weekend I still feel exhausted. *see next point.
  • If I work one more weekend it will kill my fragile little spirit.
  • I cannot wait for holidays so I can turn off my phone and ignore everyone. I need some space!
  • I need a straw hat... And the search begins.

PS. Thank you to La Pawtique, they really are the best (and only) salon I will ever take my little angel to.

Fashion Forward Friday

Framework by Moxy Creative {here}

Living in South Africa, having sunglasses is like wearing shoes. Obviously you don’t really have to wear them, but you’re going to be in a lot of pain if you don’t! The cruel South African sun is even hotter here in my wonderful Johannesburg. Being that much closer to the sun is really not that good of an idea if you don’t have your trusty sunnies.

I have a whole lot of different looks. Fashion shades are just divine. There is nothing better than a new shiny pair of (*unscratched) new shades to try out. Since I am an avid collector I never pay too much for eye protection and I enjoy trying out different looks. I have quite a round/square face. No it is not that bad! As most sunnies suite me and my round face I use this to my advantage and I’m not scared to try something extreme. I like the bigger the better! Jackie O to Jack Nicholson, This Jaxi can wear them all!

I found this on the net and thought id share it with you. What style are you? Personally, loving the Costello’s, must be a Leo thing.

PS. Those blinkers are only going to get smaller without a little shading! Moles are never in fashion...

Weekend Learnings

Monday 6 December 2010
Hmm a lot of flowers on the mind!
The first weekend of December is already done and dusted. Time is moving so quickly!

What I learned this weekend:

  • Im going to see Kings of Leon live, prrr!
  • The best thing about staying in on a Friday night is watching random old movies till late and not worrying about going to work the next day.
  • I love melon bowls.
  • The Sally Hansen French Manicure pen is very easy to use.
  • The flowers in my garden look like exotic giant white water lily's and they smell amazing.
  • Steri Stumpie now comes in Marshmallow flavour and it is NOM.
  • Country Road is my weakness, she sucks me in, forces me to buy her then leaves me poor... But very happy. They have now branched into crockery... Oh dear wallet... I am sorry.
  • The Radisson Blu Gautrain pool bar is stunning but do not go if you have a thinning wallet.
  • I’m loving the man who sells roses on Sandton Drive, my favourites are the purple and antique look. Beautiful.
  • I don’t really think I should take life as seriously as I do, especially not in December.

Have a lovely week!

Xoxo

PS. I’d like those roses delivered ASAP please. I need them!

Black Swans.
Black Swan is hitting the airwaves. And for good reason! The last ballet movie I can remember was Center Stage. As much as I loved that movie, romantic, ballet, dance movies are a little less than what I demand from a good story line these days. Although when Center Stage came out in 2000 I was 15.

With the ballet trend looking to make a comeback with the release of the sinister Black Swan, I thought id dedicate this weeks Fashion Forward Friday to ballet style.

I’m loving these photo’s by Jan Masny. I used to be quite a good ballet dancer at 15… wonder if I can still do a pirouette…

Xoxo

PS. Just because you feel like an ugly duckling today, maybe tomorrow you’ll become a swan… or even better, a black swan.

gorgeous!
